Voicaura is built to be private by design. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your data.
Recording and acoustic analysis happen entirely on your iPhone. Your audio is processed locally to produce your voice profile and is never uploaded or stored on our servers.
Voicaura has no sign-up and no login. We do not collect your name, email, or contacts. The app uses an anonymous device identifier (Firebase Anonymous Authentication) solely to protect our services from abuse and to meter usage — it is not linked to your real identity.
When you create or open a compatibility link, only an anonymous numeric voice fingerprint (a small set of normalized acoustic values — no audio, no personal information) is sent to our server under a random link token. These tokens expire after 7 days and can be deleted. Compatibility is computed on each person's device.
For the paid full profile, your anonymous voice fingerprint and scores are sent through our server to Anthropic (Claude) to generate descriptive text about the character of your voice. No audio and no identifying information are sent. This is for entertainment only — it is not a clinical, medical, or scientific assessment.
Subscriptions and purchases are handled by Apple and processed through RevenueCat. We receive anonymous purchase status (whether you have an active subscription), not your payment details.
We use Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics) to understand aggregate, anonymous usage and to fix crashes. We do not sell your data to anyone.
If you allow notifications, we use Apple Push (via Firebase Cloud Messaging) to tell you when a friend completes a voice match. You can turn these off any time in iOS Settings.
Voicaura is not directed at children under 13.
